I work with individuals 18 0r older, couples, and groups. I provide compassionate support to meet you where you are and support your growth. I take an integrated, holistic approach to your wellness using a combinations of therapies best suited to you.

Some areas of focus are depression, anxiety, trauma, low self-esteem, grief and loss, life transitions, and relational distress. I also work with anxiety and grief around ecological losses and climate change.

HUMANISTIC approach: My work is centered on your voice, wisdom, and supporting your whole self. I support the exploration of your emotional experience. I believe change and healing can come when clients to feel deeply seen and heard. I support clients to bring compassion and care to wounded and stuck parts of themselves and lives to access their own innate wisdom.

SYSTEMS ORIENTED: I also work from a systems perspective. This means I support the exploration of cultural and relational systems in wellness. I draw from attachment theory, internalized oppression, and transgenerational family theories. Exploring how we are impacted by present and past generations of our families and intimate relationships and the cultural systems into which we are born.

MIND BODY CONNECTION When supportive I use mindfulness and body based, or somatic awareness in therapy. Integration of the felt experience of the body often supports a greater self awareness and access to a more holistic sense of self. This work is informed by your needs and I draw from a variety of sources using concepts from interpersonal neurobiology, Buddhist Psychotherapy and Internal Family Systems. Our bodies can hold unprocessed emotions and memories. At a pace that feels right to you, I will invite your attention to what is happening in your bodies experience as you share your story. Attention to emotions and bodily sensations can reveal insight into what you need to feel safe, secure, and enlivened in life.

Mindfulness approaches can support bringing awareness to the present and teach skills to help with anxiety and overwhelm. I often use mindfulness to support slowing down with gentle curiosity and inquiry about what is alive for you in your present moment. I support you to create space to explore and understand your authentic needs, and strengthen your internal connection. Exploring and growing this depth of awareness to the present and self can support the emergence of new ways of being and growth to emerge.

COUPLES THERAPY

I strive to create a safe and supportive place for couples to explore their needs and limiting patterns. My approach to couples therapy is collaborative and works to empower your relationship with greater awareness and supportive skills. Couples work integrates a variety of approaches with a focus on attachment theory, Emotionally Focused Therapy and the Gottman Method.

NATURE INFORMED, ECO THERAPY

I offer nature informed therapy upon request. This therapy is offered outdoors or in the office. This approach integrates mindfulness with symbolism and experiences in nature. I have received training from the Somatic Therapy Wilderness Institute in nature informed therapy practice.

.

The idea [of therapy] isn’t to give people answers, or lead their bark of longing into a safe, dull, protected harbor,

but to make people aware of the depths of possibility in their hearts and lives;

help them remove the barriers that keep them from being the people they were meant to be.
